In the mid-twentieth, shoemaker Nils Tveranger was inspired by the boots of Norwegian fishermen who were equipped with a rope allowing them to fix the shoes to their feet.

The shoemaker then "crossed" the fishermen's boots with Indian moccasins, and that's how the moccasins that we know were born: Little by little, the rope lost its practical side, and turned into a simple pair of "pompons".
